Apparently I got some brake fluid on my gauge cover, so now there are nasty gray splotches and lines on it.  Any clever solutions to this, other than taking it off and spray painting it?

Try a bit of silicon spray. Armor all type stuff I mean.

This happened to me  [bang]
Tried everything to clean it
Found an embarrassing and trailer park fix.
I unplugged the clocks and
carefully went over the whole area with a permanent marker.
It works but under some angles was noticeably to me but must of mellowed with time
and now looks okay . The hardest part was the drip mark on the clocks clear covers.
That I tried everything from Turps to thinners and eventually metal polish.
The white mark has gone but you still can just see the drip at an angle.  [puke]

I tried the sharpie on a less visible part, didn't really turn out quite right, guess this winter I will be spray painting it, thanks
