Okay.  Here's what it's down to and I need opinions.

New 2010 M696 going in for it's 1000km service this coming Thursday.  Dealership doing the service has a Termi kit in stock that's been there for a while (Termi's, ECU, and air filter) $1200 install included.  Prob get them to put on a battery tender cable at the same time for no extra charge.

Problem is, I have only heard the difference in sound between the Termi's, the Leo Vince One Evo II's, and the Arrow Dark Line slip on's on you tube....on my laptop.  I think the Leo Vince and the Arrow's look a little better imho, but based on the price difference, $600 for the Arrow's, $532 for the LV's....both slip on's.....vs the Termi's full system for $1200 dealer installed, what's the better value?

I want sound primarily, but if there is a major performance difference in the pipes, I'm interested in hearing!

OPINIONS PLEASE!   waytogo

Cheers all! Smiley

Just to clarify, the Termi system you are referring to is the slip ons, ECU and filter, correct?  You said "full system" which for $1,200 installed is a steal.  Even if it's the slip on with ECU and air filter that's still a really good price even if it wasn't installed.

The main benefit to the Termi system is they have already tuned the ECU for you where as the other systems are still gonna require a possible significant additional investment if you plan on tuning your bike to the related exhaust.

Maybe someone with more firsthand experience can chime in but if you have $1,200 I'd go for the Termi's  waytogo

I'm doing the same research into an exhaust right now.  Looking primarily for sound on my 796.  The dealer parts guy (and the Ducati Accessories catalog) only has a slip on kit (slip on canisters, ECU, and air filter) for the 696/796.  There is no "full" header back system apparently.  The only "full" kit available is for the 1100S/Evo.

Anyone know if fuel economy is affected by the Termi kit (or any other slip ons)?  I have a 100 mile daily commute to work and mpg is a major concern.

Sorry.  The Termi system is the slip on cans, with the ecu and air filter!

Do I have the $1200 for the exhaust?  Yes.
Will the other half be annoyed that I spent it on the exhaust?  Probably.
Will it be worth it?  Most definitely!   laughingdp

Still so undecided though!  I might be just as happy with simple slip ons that are a hell of a lot cheaper?!?  Save that money for other mods!   Grin

If I'm sufficiently happy with the power of the bike, would you still recommend the Termi system?  I really am just looking for style and sound with this mod.  Is the termi worth that extra cash for what the ecu and filter will give me?

Lol.   Okay.  Termi's it is!  They'll be installed Thursday then!  It does seem easier to get it all done at once that's for sure!

And the other half won't know for at least a month until the credit card bill comes, so even better!   laughingdp
I'll pull a little OT at work, hide the credit card bill, and she'll be none the wiser.... bwahaha!  Evil

In the words of one of our long-standing members:

Termis sound like God's having an orgasm.  Housepets explode into flame.  Women collapse in ecstasy.  Children bleed out of their ears.  Grown men sob hysterically.  Cops flee for their lives.

I dunno.

His raging bro-ner for Jorge in the race threads is pretty epic.

Hi. M new here. I just got the new Monster 795. The stock pipes look pretty cool but it's nothing compared to the looks of the Termi.  Would it be wise to change change the pipes immediately? I mean my bike still got 0kms on it. Still parked at the dealers as I am out on a convention. Just thinking on what to tweak when I get back.
