I am thinking about purchasing the short carbon tail piece from either DP or monsterparts.  I know the full tail chop looks awesome, but I just can't bring myself to cut the frame  Undecided  I'm looking for input on which one to go with.  Does either one of them fit better or just have an overall nicer finish?

I didn't like the idea of cutting the frame either.  Especially if you may trade the bike in a little later.  I have the DP Tail piece you're talking about.  In fact there are some other threads with good pictures around here that should help with your decision.   I'm very happy with mine.  I really like the look.

I have the Shift-Tech Fender Eliminator (Half-Chop) on my S4RS. I have had positive comments on how it looks.
I did have to cut the frame ends a bit but it looks very clean. I don't think it will hurt the re-sale value of the bike; but then I don't have plans to <ever> sell it!   Grin    http://www.shift-tech.com/

Requires shortening frame by 85mm

DP short tail here. Fit and finish is great. I have the Zard exhuast. Since the cans extend further than the seat, I think a full chop would look awkward. The carbon short tail is perfect for the Zards IMO.

I have the half-chop (85mm) version and love it, you can ride in the rain and not get wet-back either, in my opinion it looks great.

I also held (and sold) the DP/Monsterparts piece and thought it was really great too. I'd like that one if I had a coloured trellis.

The short top can hold indicators without a support bracket (mine are Rizoma Track 01), can someone verify if the DP piece can support indicators too.

the DP tail is drilled for indicators... the metal bits hold the taillight and the light for the plate, as well as the plate itself.
