So I have a 2000 M900 ie. It works great, with one issue. If the battery is not FULLY charged, the starter doesn't start the engine. I figured it was a bogey battery and replaced it (the old battery looked to be original). With the new battery, I have the same thing. It is as if the starter just can't get enough power to turn the motor over. If I put the battery on a slow charger for even 5 minutes, it usually gives me enough juice to get it running. This makes my morning commute annoying to get started, but it is serviceable.

Starter solenoid? What do you think?

I'd sooner think a connection/voltage drop issue.

Everyone that upgrades their battery cables claims the slow/no turn over goes away.

Sounds like a cheap, easy fix. I'll give that a shot and then dig up this thread once I get around to it. Thanks!

I've installed this rewire kit  and it makes a appreciable difference in the start-up of the bike http://www.powerlet.com/product/ducati-starter-rewire-kit-1999-900-750-monster/298
