I wonder how likely or how possible it is for these new panigale frames to develop a small crack in them? Looks more like a dirt bike frame anyway. From the picture, it appears that one is already cracked

the more I look at this bike with fairings off, the more I can't believe they got a patent for that frame, just by calling it frameless.
that frame has the almost the same basic layout as the 696 just with different attachment points. well monoque instead of space in the front.

I dont think it would be all that different from wrecking any other sportbike. the ecu's and shock are more exposed then most I suppose, but those the twin subframe "frame" means that the chances of totaling it for a cosmetic ding arent as great...which sucks for those of us that lie in wait for perfectly useable "totalled" bikes for the track.

I was more on the standpoint of crash survivabity. the older bikes you could probably toss down the track several times before the frame was damaged.
this thing on the other hand, looks like if you chucked it hard enough that front airbox member would snap and the mounting point would be under so much pressure that the shock ripped part of the engine off.

I wonder how much it is to replace the subframes. If you bend the frame on a standard bike then it's kind of toast... but if the mounting points survive on the Pani... just replacing the subframes should pretty much make it 100% again right?
So while it might not hold up as well, it might allow resurrection of the bike easier?
