So Swampduc and I are planning on hiting up the fertile soils of Italy and Germany for a few days in July.

Purely coincidentally it's during Mugello, and we just so happen to have passes for the race. Cheesy

So, who's actually been there and what would you reccomend doing in the area? Any can't miss things?

We'd also love to meet up with some of you guys on the other side of the pond.

Any reccomendations?

Hit a nice Agriturismo around Firenze, have a large Fiornetina with bold red wine, smoke a joint, collapse watching the stars, wake up in the morning and head towards the Cinque Terre area (assuming you like the sea).
Then repeat from step #1  Grin

Made a random stop there while racing some second gear turn roads north of Firenze/Flornce - the Firenzuola Pass from Imola. That's all I have.... GREAT roads Dolph

El Mat..you'll be close to Florence and Pisa so you'll have to go check them out.  Statue of David, Ponte Vechio bridge, The Ufizzi, etc Definitely ride there if you can.  I arrived a little later to the race then the rest of the WPM group.  The locals I was with took me right through the crowd on our Ducs.  Something you couldn't do in the US.  Evil

I'm sure you'll be in the Duc section?  Look out for the Desmodromic Club keeping the section secure.  They're a cool bunch.  Valentino and Hayden will most likely stop by after the race for some photo ops.  Capirex and Gebinau stopped by after the '06 race.

For sure..if you can..meet up with the Venizia and the Ducati Desmo Sisters Clubs!

If you have the time..the factory is a must.  Then go a couple hours northeast to the Trento Adige region along with the Dolomites.

Here are a few pics from my trips.

The day before the race with Michael Moore.

Mugello 2006

Start of the GP

Hanging with the Desmodromic Club in Rome.  Shortly after dinner when most of the other WPM group went back to the hotel, a few of us stayed out for a night ride to the clubhouse.  100+ mph through Rome..Awesome!   Evil

The tuscan region is beautiful.  So much to see!  Have fun!!
