Hello all.  New owner of a 2001 M900s.  I also own a 1978 Honda Hawk that I cafe'd out a bit.

I got my license this year after thinking about it off and on for years.  Best decision I've made in a long time.  To think that I spent 10 years in CA without a bike---so many perfect 70 degree days I could have been riding through the malibu canyons.  Sigh.

I bought the Hawk (400cc) to start on something more beginner friendly.  Tons of fun to ride but was not able to carry me on long rides to visit folks, shore, etc.  Got the Duc a few weeks ago and am in love.

Anyway, thanks already to DMF, since I used the site to read up before my purchase.  Moving to NYC in a few weeks (from Philly) and would love to learn about riding routes, events, etc. in area.

NYC huh? Make sure they don't dump chicken grease on your bike... ask He Man about that.

Wouldn't that make it run better, what with all the extra lubrication on the parts?

All the parts, including the seat parts... your pants parts... and it goes rancid. That boys bike had quite a funk
