Thanks to the inspiration of some members builds I have decided to start building a bike I have always wanted.  I have a 749 frame & engine, the engine will get a 1000 crank & an air cooled top end.  I do plan on running a dual sided swing arm on this bike. My question is what swingarm? I know the box type swing arm off the '05 and up bikes is considered to be a better swingarm mainly for strength.  But it does carry a large price premium over the older sand cast swingarm.  Does any one have any FHE with either, is the weight similar between the 2?  As this is going to be more of a street fighter style bike, I am not sure I really need the stronger swingarm.

+1

If it's just going to be a streetbike, then either will work. Get whichever one you think looks best.  waytogo
