So my single engine 650 Triumph went up to the 1-1/2 mile standing start in Loring Maine two weeks ago...Set a new record of 133.1 MPH in the modified naked frame push rod engine class...This is the fastest officially timed speed for this class anywhere.
The double engine bike ran an easy 142 mph on it's first run with the rider holding back to be sure there was no handling problems....The second run was aborted when he noticed low oil pressure on the front engine....

I'm a huge fan of Sunbeam bikes. That's a great looking S7, Monstyr. Is it in as good of a condition as it looks?

That's great. Last one I laid eyes on was in the Coventry museum.

Up close it has a few rusty bits but I prefer an old bike to have patina of age rather then the over restored ones you sometimes see.
Just about to rewire the whole bike, should take me a long afternoon I reckon.

There's some great work in this thread. I saw a modern Norton on the road the other day. It was impressive.

Does anyone know if these latest Nortons are rubber mounted like the original Norton Commandos?

No idea. Balance shafts or crank timing change due to such large capacity parallel twin motors?

From watching the startup, running, and whisky throttling, I'm gonna say no. Looks smooth, nothing moving around. Sounds nice with the open meg.
