04 1000s sacurity sys.

 have 04 1000s monster. sometimes when trying to start the yellow sec.sys. light will stay on.when this happens starter won't work.most of the time bike does not do this.if this happens i turn key off than on usually fixes it. is security sys.in need of reprogram? anyone have similar problem ,knows a fix?

It could be the antenna for the immobilizer or the key itself. If you have another key does it happen when you use it?

If you remove the bezel around the switch you can see if the antenna is damaged.

The other alternative is to have the immobilizer disabled with an ecu reflash.
