So I picked up a Ducati Dark Rider Helmet today but before I even took it out of the box I jumped on line to see about ordering a smoke shield for it and it appears that there is no where to get any shields for it smoke or clear!! Does anyone know if there's suposed to be another AGV Helmet who's shield will fit? I cant believe they would put out a helmet with a removable shield and not make any replacement shields for it. If I cant get replacement shields this is going back to the store. Too bad too cause it's a beautiful lid. Looks like I may be dropping some extra coin for a GP-TECH instead which did feel better but definitely didnt look as good and definitely cost a lot more. (almost twice as much!)

Shields are probably available from the Duc dealer.

Maybe they can tell you what model is the same.

Duc Dealer doesnt carry AGV but I'll ask them to look at the online catalog and see if they can get the shields for this helmet. I'm also going to take the Helmet to the Dainese Store here in Chicago which carries AGV and see if they have a shield that fits as well as doing a side by side comparison with the AGV GP-Tech. Still cant decide between the Dark Rider helmet and GP-Tech helmet. GP-Tech costs a lot more but it's Fiberglass & Carbon-Kevlar and is so plush it feels like your putting your head between a gorgeous pair of cans (I'm not talking exhaust here)  [evil].  So I might just return this helmet and get the GP-Tech instead. Just want to do the back and forth between the two to help me decide. (The two helmets not the two cans  ;D)

Mentioned this before, buf if you like the Rossi colors you can get a GP tech pretty cheap right now... about $100 more than a dark rider:

I ordered one before to test the fit and GPtechs dont fit me well but the one I had was made in 2011 so you dont have to worry too much about the age... and I still love the faces design on the helmet.

I have a GP-Tech.

I crashed in my first and actually broke it. Didn't even see stars.

I went right out and bought another.

They're great helmets.

edit...

after a quick online search the Dark Rider seems to be an AGV S-4

It's an S4-SV. I figured this out by looking at the back of it where it said S4-SV. They dont carry these helmets in the US but you can get the shields for them here so I'm good. Peeled the sticker off the shield and took it for a ride. Doesnt feel like Angelina Jolie's cans are on my head like the GP-Tech does more like the hot girl next door so for the money that'll do. Fit's great good airflow and looks Bad-Ass. I'll rock this for the next two years than pick up a GP-Tech unless I decide to get a 5-Continents GP-Tech since those are dropping in price. My bike is all Matte Black so I went for the Matte-Black helmet but I cant stop thinking about that 5-Continents design to the point where I dont care if it matches my bike it's just so beautiful.
