Weeping Carb leak?

Since I bought the bike (late winter) I noticed that the left side of the carb just under the air box had some what appears to be varnish stains. Like a golden color. Its sticky too so I assume its varnish. I stuck my head under there and noticed some buildup around a screw that is about half way in. Not sure what this screw does but it is located right next to one of those small black overflow lines. What parts could be leaking that I should examine? Float bowls too high?
No drips mind you. Just this varnish and buildup. I have run seafoam in the tank and have used the spray in the throttle bodies but I have not taken them apart. Im waiting for cold weather to do that.
Pics are not good but maybe they help...(ps- the bike runs like a champ)

Give the carbs a good clean and look for any leaks and stains. Sometimrs that can be grime build up over time.  Touch the grime, does it smell like fuel? Are the screws tight? It could be nothing or you may need float bowl gaskets.

Those screws in the float bowls next to the tubes are drain screws. Open them and fuel will drain out the hoses.
