So i decided to modify my guage assembly (inspired by xskiervh's 696.) Though instead of completely removing the bracket, i just took off the top half.  This way i can still put it back to stock if i should choose to do so.  After romoving the top halves of the bracket, i made some simple braces for the new position.  The top screws holding the guage originally are now being held by these brackets at a lower position than the lower original spots.  Doing it this way also allowed me to continue the use of my 12v sockets in the triple tree.  The whole job took me no more than an hour using my angle grinder, a hacksaw, a file, two strips of metal and a couple different bolts to hold it in place.  Anyways here are the pics.  Enjoy!
