Thats pretty big that CRT's can change bore and stroke... means you can field a twin now right?
And never heard too many complaints about rims... any major reason behind that rule change? or just another way to reduce costs?

i can't remember if the rule stil specifies a 4-cylinder, but why would you want to handicap yourself even more? making a competitive twin at this level has to be very, very expensive.

Especially for the CRT's. Maybe Ducati would be so inclined, but they would need to dump so much money into the project they might go bankrupt.

Rossi's getting ready...
http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Aug/120821rossixr750.htm
"he maintenance costs on an XR750 are enormous and the engines, even though they've been in production for decades, are decidedly short life. Even at a sedate non-Carr pace, one can burn thousands of dollars in parts on an XR750 in a weekend. And obtaining parts can be an issue."
really? why?

Fixed it for ya. The flat trackers out there these days are combinations of existing part/aftermarket castings stuffed into custom built frames.
The last XR750 sold complete by Harley was in 1980 and they only sold the motors from late 1980-1988.
