I haven't run a full tune, I just found a shop I trust with it.

The bike definitely has more power now though. With all the changes I have I am certain that someone with skill (not me) could lift the front.

It just needs to be smoothed out and tuned properly. Maybe this winter.

You mean with out using the clutch, just opening her up and lifting up.  because that is what I want out of it.  I hate having to use the clutch to pop it up.  had a moment the other day leaving work doing that.  rear tire was cold and spun when it lifted up and shot me sideways, I saved it and brought it down smooth, but I know when I go into work tomorrow some one had to of seen it happen and I am sure I will be made fun of. lol

Lightweight flywheel.

I saw lighter flywheel on proitalia.com for a little over 300 I think.  it saves over 2 pounds.

Been there done that!  I've got the clutch wheelie pretty much down.  Now I'm working on the power wheelie.... Evil

just orderd the 14th sprocket and starting to look for a power commander v hopefully used on ebay,  and going to call a bike shop that does machine work tomorrow and see if they can possibley lighten my fly wheel by machining it and still keep it correctly balanced.  fall is approaching fast here in chicago and the rainy season is starting so I need to get a move on with this stuff so I dont have to think everyday over the winter about how much better the bike might be.

More research is required.  They're out there for less $...

Try Nichols Manufacturing.

For christ's sake Raux.  Every time I read a post you have your dirty little fingers in I spend more money.

But since were on the subject...a PCV on the stock ecu vs the termi ecu (or the stock with the termi reflash)...any advantage to the reflash or will the PC take care of it from the stock map?

(and it looks like Ill be hunting for cams and a flywheel once the snow flies...) (*&$%!!!!)

a reflash will give you more than the termi ecu, you can adjust fuel cutoff, drop teh closed loop, etc.

i wish I had waited for the reflash instead of getting a termi. BUT i would only get a reflash if the shop was local to me and it came with a dyno tune.

on the 14t, when i head back to the states i'll change it back to 14t from 15t. I do love the mod for city riding for sure.

So then would you bother with a PCV if you had a dyno tuned map?

I was kind of thinking cams, some sort of airbox mod, and some flow work on the heads, then get the reflash.  (flywheel shouldnt have any effect on the tuning right?)

Ive got to tear the bike down for the superbike front end this winter anyway...so why not get into the motor.  (and I think I abuse my clutch too much so that would be the time to do the flywheel.)

On the subject of the closed loop...if you eliminate that portion of the tune, you no longer have a need fo your O2 sensors correct? since it just dumps fuel for a specific A/F ratio regardless of what the sensor feedback is right? wouldnt this be a bad idea since you dont have consistant inlet air temperature?

I dont have the remap. just the termi ecu.
But yes, if you have a complete remap with proper setup, no o2s, higher rev limit etc. no reason IMO for a PCV.

flywheel affects how quickly the bike gets into certain revs and for downshift rev matching... could tuning be affected, probably not, but tuning with the features of the flywheel could determine how you want the power to come on. so you could shift your power up in the revs if you wanted to take full advantage. add the more open intake, a port and polish, a higher rev limit and all of the sudden you have a bike that loves the upper revs more.

BUT I do have to shift more than the ST2 Wink

flywheel is on opposite side of clutch Wink

getting rid of the closed loop allows the PC V or remap to work better in the full rev range.
remember the closed loop is all about emissions. the PC V has some O2 optimizers that trick the closed loop into enriching the loop a bit.
with the ecu getting rid of it, you can drop the optimizers, drop the O2 sensors (or replace them with the PC Autotune wideband ones, then it will build a map for you)

lots of options and obviously deserves it's own thread... good thing there is one Wink The closed loop sticky

Woah now I never said the fly wheel and clutch were under the same cover! I just said it would be a good time to do both!   waytogo
