I have an '08 S2R I am new to them and was wondering about these fatduc 02 manipulators, what are some of the ins and outs as in pros and cons of them?
I would also like to get an open clutch cover for it, i live in Brisbane so it's hot and rains fairly often. is there extra wear and tear caused by the clutch being open to the elements? Do the open covers help with function by being more readily cooled by air running over them?

Thanks! [Dolph]

The FatDuc smooths over the lean factory fuel mapping.  Mostly noticeable in the lower RPM closed loop portion of the mapping.  It will give you smoother power at lower RPM and reduce the popping on decel.  Many will argue its merit but for me it was the best $85 I've ever spent on my S4RS.

As for the clutch cover you have no choice.  Just open it up now and start pouring money out of your wallet for all of the bling you will have to have once it's open.  Pressure plates, SS springs, titanium bolts....these are all mandatory minimum modifications.  At the end of the day we all need a reason to climb back over the bridge rail to safety,  this might as well be yours.

Simply put, the Fat Duc allows you to alter the fuel ratio in closed loop operation but does nothing in open loop.  A good device, IMO, for typical street riding.

thanks for the input, in relation to the things you were talking about with the clutch thermite, do you think they are  waste of money? Also, are they unsafe? is that what you mean by the bridge rail to safety?

For the bridge rail:

When your staring down into the swirling muddy waters below and you decide NOT to commit suicide it's time to climb back over the bridge rail.

yes, they are a total waste of money, accomplish nothing and not the best if your bike sits for a long time in the rain.

on the other hand, custom open covers and internals look cool as hell and emit real Ducati noises. I have the full open clutch thing and open belts with a 1" white strip on the edge of each belt. Watching this thing idle is better than TV. It makes me smile.  [thumbsup]
