Headlight flicker dim n normal when rev up

My triumph crapped out on me yesterday.  Headlight while riding kept dimming down and when rev up brightens.  Finally 30seconds from my place, engine light came on.  So once again I pushed her home.

Any ideas to diagnose ?  Guessing electrical.

Oh my monster still has immobilizer issue that I will take to shop in Sept when my mechanic can squeeze her in.

You know I keep two bikes do that I can use one while the other is being worked on.  But it really sucks when both are out.  Need to save up for my dream bike - Ducati streetfighter (can't find them

If its an older bike, I think the headlights are powered straight from the alternator instead of the battery.. so it could be your alternator not making enough power. On newer ones, the alternator charges the battery which powers the headlight.

How to find out.. If the headlight turns on without starting the bike, then its wired from the battery.. If it turns on only when the bike is running, then its wired from the alternator..

Battery.  Planning to take it out and charge it tomorrow.  Hope that solves it.

Check charging system output.  A little brighter when reving is normal,  Big difference is not.

Yep, loose battery cable connection.   Grrrrr.   

I had lent the bike to a friend and he hooks his phone charger.  Pretty sure when he returned her didn't tighten it.
