Any updates?

I need some inspiration.

After a trip from Ontario, out to Colorado/New Mexico and back on my 98 ST2 (which ran flawlessly) it's time to start the rebuild.

Frame and swingarm are in paint shop, graphivs ordered, body to soon follow. Going for sure with Pearl white with red frame and swingarm. Graphics are modern ducati fonting like off 1098. I will post graphics I made later. Rims to be marchesini gold colored standard 3 spokers.

Just paint it whatever Pearl White you like.

it doesn't have to be the Genuine Ducati Pearl White© , does it?

What paint brand? ICI Auto-Color should have a formula.

I used a Mercedes pearl white on a Monster. Wasn't trying to match anything.

The issue is cost. Apparently the 2009 ducai pearl white is a two stage and evrything else I find is 3 stage. 100 diff on price

If the Ducati color is two stage it really isn't a 'pearl'. It might have some pearl tint in the mix. Probably why it doesn't have the 'presence' of the other colors on the market. The other tints subdue the appearance.

You get the best appearance with a 3 stage job.

Paint...particularly pearls are expensive, and even more so since the incident in Japan several years ago shut down the manufacturing of most of the pearls used in our paint. I'm not sure if the supply chain is caught up yet.

What's a hundred bucks break down to in the overall cost of the project?

Perhaps Raux was looking for the matte pearl?

FWIW, the matte pearl looks really neat, but it gets dirty *really* easy, and it loves that dirt, and will fight like a badger to keep it.
