This issue has been bugging me for a while:

I have '99 Monster 900. It looks like the brake hoses are too short. It barely has a bend from the front hose guide, through the inside of the fork and down to the brakes.

As a result, the red fender is now white on the sides by the fork area because the hose would rub on it while in motion. It has also started to wear the walls of the hose and needs replacement.

I looked at other bikes my age and they have a metal hose guide at the top of the fork that makes the hose bend backwards between the forks. My bike is missing this.

The lack of hose slack has me wondering if the previous owner raised the bars up or something.

2 things.

1. Can anyone recommend replacement hose for the front brakes?

2. Does anyone have the metal cable guides for the brake hose?

Thanks.
