My gas milage
«

I took my 2010 M1100S on a 200 mile ride today. I checked my gas milage very carefully. I was riding with 2 friends, one on a Busa the other on a SV1000. The ride was "spirited", lots of twisties and hit over 100 Mph a time or two. I got 47.3 the first tank and 53.5 the second. I can't complain about that!
Both tanks were ethanol free. Ill check ethanol gas later.

Altitude makes a massive difference on my air-cooled engine.
At ~5k, I get about 40 on a regular basis. At 8-10k, I get 50-ish even riding faster than normal.

Jebus, my 4 valver gets 35 mph maybe. My Ford Fiesta gets better.

Only 35 mph?
The thing on the right...twist it.

What is this "ethanol free" gas you speak of?

Commuting, in a stop-n-go traffic, I get only about 33 mpg. I've yet to see the gas consumption on open road.

Gas mileage is important when opportunities to fill are far apart.
100 miles for 3 gallons is a pretty good planning factor, but in that mileage was less than two gallons.
