I have a 2010 M1100. I'm about to do an oil change.  I have the filter and oil.  I bought this bike used and don't have an owners manual (I have one coming from Pro Itiaili).  I think it takes 3.3 Quarts, is that correct?

i have the evo motor and i can barely get 3 quarts in there. i would buy 3 of good oil and 1 of cheaper oil as a top off oil.

Thanks!  Any screens to clean?

Oil capacity is 3.5 litres.

Owner's manual downloadable for free from here  >>  http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do

The screen filter housing is directly below the oil level sight glass.

Howie

Oil capacity is misleading.  Fill up to line with the bike vertical up to the full line.  Pour some oil into the oil filter.  Start bike and run until the oil light goes out.  Allow some time for the oil to return to the sump.  Top off.  Do not overfill.  A little under is better than a little over.  The bike will take less than specified in the manual.

Agreed...

My dealer always fills to the "add" line only, never the "full" line. This avoids excessive crankcase pressures inherent to the big twin that can eventually lead to leaky seal problems.
