that is a twin to mine. Great bike. (yes i am bias) i get around 130 miles till the light comes on and had better find a station withing 20.

Make sure you check the clutch slave cyl. they are crap castings and most leak and rebuilding it just prolongs the inevitable replacement. I got a great billet one out of germany that works great.

I also had to change the seat as the stock one was painful after an hour in the seat. put on a DP gel and cured the issue.

Happy riding

Aha. thanks.

I've came from he shop. It's almost done, can't wait.

I have new belts, new belt tensioners/bearings, cylinder heads machined and some new valve steams, desmo checked and tuned, new battery, front fork with liquid and seals done, new chain kit including the front and rear sprokets, new oil and filter, throtle bodies cleaned and syncro'ed...

GK

That must have cost quite a bit?

Good that it'll all be sorted nicely though.

Shit! For all that work and parts... that's a great deal. You've listed $400-500 in parts alone. I need to visit that shop...

Yup. And i bought everything from them so i also have warranty etc.  [beer]

Today i got my licence plates.
I choose the combination - in my country the pattern is x(like a state) - any two numbers - any 3 letters - so i choose for the letters something to describe it - RAW .  [evil]

Wow again... keep going to that shop! They have great prices. Really...

I know that's why i did so much to the bike with them.
I hope they don't change the prices (so much) in the future.

GK

Awesome prices!  [thumbsup]

I was expecting you to say something like $1000!

I felt the pain in my hip pocket when I first read that post, hence why I actually asked the question. LOL!

For prices like that, I would take it to a shop.  What country is this where labor is included with parts purchase?  I'll ride there and let rorschach show me around while they service my bike for the ride back!

I'm from Europe, Romania.
Yeah and especially for a Ducati...

@ Dirty Duc - will do, no problem  8)

Ok... i little bit of bad luck.
I rode the bike for like 20 mile.
It's amazing after the full service, it's so agile and crisp. Oh my God.  [evil]

After 10 miles the oil pressure light came on and it never went off at iddle, stayed off only with some medium rpm and it fluctuates.
Stopped the bike checked the oil, all there, no leaks.
Started and again the oil pressure light is on again it fluctuated.
Had no option and rode home back on it -middle of nowhere- for 10 more miles and didn't revved it high.

When i bought it no light came on.
So is it possible that i have 10w40 (shell advance ultra 4) and it's too 'thin'? (i don't know what oil was in there when i got it, i will try to find out)
Should i try with a 20w50 like in the manual?

Maybe the sensor?

And for my piece of mind, there shouldn't be any damage to the engine?
Or it's and indication that the bearings are done ?- i don't care about them in the end they are a consumable but i care about the block, rods, crank etc

I won't use it untill spring now because the season is done now here, only bad wheater.

What do you think?
Hope that a 'thicker' oil will do the trick?
Or tear the engine apart in the shop - i called them - he said maybe the oil maybe the bearings - they asked like 65 $ for the bearings and labour off course will be high for this job something like ~230 $.

Kinda bummer but i will find out and fix it..still love the bike.
Thanks.

Was the bike wet, weather very damp, raining or you washed the bike recently?

It is very common for water to get into the connection between the harness and the sensor. When it does it will cause the light to come on.

10w-40 is fine - so with the light on that's an indication of an issue

You may have a bad sensor or a leak.

I had a similar issue where the seal between my generator cover and main case had failed near the clutch slave. Once the bike got hot and the oil thinned then the light would come on at idle. When the bike was cold, and the oil thicker all was fine. If i'd swapped to 20w-50 the light might not have come on, but I still had a leak...

Have a look around and check for leaking fluid. It's not uncommon for a minor oil leak to develop around the two small orings of the clutch push rod. And really really check... oil is very tricky and the wind blows it around. Initially I thought my valve cover was leaking as the whole underside of my case was oiled - so several inches infront of the leak site got oil, not what I would have expected.

Yeah kinda damp wheater.

Regarding the leaks, yes maybe ..it's kinda smuged in the back of the engine.
I will try to look hard and clean it and find if there are any leaks.

Thank you.

LE. Even so with leaks and low pressure, the time i rode it couldn't harm the engine , right ?
