So about 2 and half months ago I got a ticket on George bush when I was riding my Harley and got tagged for going 89mph (70mph limit) and of course got a ticket. Well when I went to the clerks I requested deferedadjudication, no big deal. Under the condition I would be under a 90 day probationary period and have to complete a drivers safety course.
Well I did my online defensive and come to find out they wouldn't accept it. So I was pretty irritated and asked why. Well apparently Collin county has changed their requirements that in order to get a ticket dismissed through deferred on a motorcycle, you're required to go back and complete the motorcycle safety course. Whic is the bullshit little course you have to take to get your license now. No amount of arguing helped even though it was their staff that had originally told me all I had to take was a tx certified defensive driving course.
So needless to say ill be spending my damn weekend doing that two day course so I that this ticket doesn't go on my record since its due next week.
However I thought It would be pretty funny to show up in my 1 piece full race get-up.

why would you do an online defensive driving under deferred adjudication? To avoid the 90 days you take the class in most counties but then again you live in Collin.

That would normally be the case. But because I'm under 21, the requirements are that I don't get another ticket for 90 days and complete defensive driving.

Those weekend MSF course instructors are most impressed with wheelies Sorry to hear about this, though. I drive GBT all the time. Surrounding traffic NEVER goes 70. Constantly amazed I've avoided tickets there... Yeah... I suppose I could drive the speed limit but then I'd just be a moving chicane.

If I were under twenty-one and not married, I would gladly retake the motorcycle safety course for the chance to meet unmarried, under-twenty-one new female riders. It sure beats being sentenced to AA meetings. If you are already married, disregard the above, and may god bless you and me both.

I never took one - they didn't have them when I got my motorcycle license - had it for 44 years now - Texas transferred it from PA with no questions 17 years ago.

well the first time around was bad enough, but sweet freaking jesus having to take that class twice was just down right miserable.
The guy practically wanted to fail me because i wasn't using 4 fingers to brake because the lever on that shitty little hyosung i got stuck on was so far away from the handlebar and my fingers aren't very long.
Then come to find out, i could have gotten lone star track days to write me off a motorcycle safety course when i did my track day at texas world speedway back in october... what a freaking waste.

Always hire an attorney, even for "just a deferred adjudication". On average, that 30-70 bucks is well worth your time, once you add it up. After going through similar boondoggles like you have here I've changed the way I handle that sort of thing.
