If you like old junk, I mean vintage motorcycles, check out the Manx that will be on display at the Norton booth; it's been killing it at the AHRMA races for the last few years and the Manx is the epitome of British singles racing so they're just cool. There will be an electric mcy based around a Featherbed rolling chassis there too, along with a few Commandos I'm sure.

is that freakish single that old man Heyser runs gonna be there?

I've parked on the sidewalk (Corner of NY Ave. & 7th St.) past two years and never had an issue.  Been the first to park and then get joined by other bikes and mopeds.

Let's meet at the Ducati stand at 5:30 and grab smth to eat after.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

how was it?

The 1199R is SICK! I was actually wishing the model would get out of the way so I could see the bike.

I was very "ho-humm" about the show....it was okay...no KTM to be found...very little to interest me in gear....too many "customs" placed all over the place....hearing the Harley beginner ride experience bike being revved to the gills by wannabees and newbys...hearing stunters in the back crack the throttle for little reason....oh and too many freaking morons who just wander around spread 3 and 4 across leaving little room for people to actually navigate....

I rather enjoyed it although Nora is still healing from Hip Surgery/broken hip so it was interesting for her navigating with the power scooter I rented her. Naturally the usual stuff was there but there was also enough new product in both Motorcycle form and other stuff I don't need plus a chance to compare gear such as helmets all at once. I also like visiting with my favorite dealers, DucPond and Victory of Southern Maryland - both great small business examples. I like the specs on the HyperStrada but the seat height is still a killer, the 848 EVO SE maybe the bargain of the whole line. almost wish I had not added the latest addition for the track, the SE might have been the ticket. Also was very interested in a up close look at the Honda FB6, CB1000, and the 500s, all very cool and well executed. The Cafe Racer that Velocity cycles is doing with the Royal Enfield base was also interesting. There was even some HDs that got a smile from me. Lastly if you care you should let the organizers know that they should do the show on this weekend again next year as the Hotel prices are killer and they get more participation. I was not at all impressed with all the club color stuff being worn, but then I guess some would complain about my Ducati Jacket, Victory Shirt, and HD Hat. - Gene

The GP Bike display was about the best thing out there.  Steve's buddies from the Norton club were nice enough to let us come behind the ropes and talk about their electric racer with alot of cool upgrades.  GSXR front end, carbon wheels, I-Pad in the tank, custom fairing stays, ect.  Very cool bike.

Yeah - the 848 looked *really* good - better in person than in pics, which I usually find to not be the case. And at only about 2K more than a base 600cc 4 cyl? Bargain is definitely the word. I too liked the 500 Honda - finally a "starter" bike that actually has some decent power. Hopefully they sell a lot - I could see these being the bikes that hang around for years. I also liked the 70s-look CB 1100, and at 10K that seemed like a pretty good price too (although I don't think they'll sell many unfortunately). If only the new Guzzi was a 1000 instead of a 750...

Yep - the MotoGP/Moto2/Moto3 bike display was cool. Interesting how Colin Edwards' bike looks so unpolished compared to the big money teams. Man the Moto3 bikes look teeeeny.
