hi dukes, mi bike is getting fixed, by myself, and i was looking at some pics of ducatis with black power coated pipes and thought in doing the same with mine.
i have the termis, so painting the rest of the tubes in black will be great. does anyone knows where can i do this around. I've eared that the ceramic power coating is the best process. where can i do that and for how much?

Ceramic coating is what you want, not powder.

I've used Jet-Hot but they are a bit pricey when compared to a local coater.  My 620 pipes cost $200 plus a 2 week turnaround time.  I've been quoted by local coaters $125 with half the turnaround time.

I thought the DFW members were trying to get a group job together?  That didn't work out?

So did Jet-Hot also coat the inside of your pipes?

The headers on my Duc look like crap from all the baked-on mud/dirt ever since the Hill Country trip last year.
Want to get this get this locally done since I really don't feel like waiting two weeks for the Jet-Hot job.

Yeah yeah yeah... the DFW group is still going to get a group buy from a local coater once the riding season dies down a bit (i.e. it's too damn hot to ride for a few days)  There's still riding to do   waytogo

Jet-Hot does coat the inside of the pipes. They look great overall

Bryant, is that the reg. black or gloss black on your headers?

Can't quite tell with the lighting/flash in the photos...

That was the gloss, after a lot of miles though the gloss faded down to more of an eggshell type finish

I've been thinking of getting the monster header and the 748's pipes coated, I would probably just choose a dull silver if possible...

You know I've been meaning to have this done to the S4, count me in.  waytogo

A group buy would be good, but judging from this response...

if you want your headers to be silver, dull or other, you could use abrasives. I just put a wire cup brush in a cordless drill and brushed the header @ the head and it knocked the 'red' road grime off exposing a slightly lustered silver w/ dull graphite discoloration. I chucked up a brush w/ harder wire and really shined the area nicely(think brushed stainless). if you got to bright you could knock it down w/ a harder abrasive or, theoretically, because it's stainless, you could mirror your exhaust by stepping up slowly bacon...

true, but it doesn't last at all, I've done that already once on the monster.  The ceramic coat would be much more durable and easier to clean

If I do it, I want black... going with the whole dark theme on mine.  Threadjacking a little bit, I am excited about some other blingy speedymoto bits that should be arriving in the mail shortly that should also help the color scheme of the bike.
