Eccentric Hub bearing 2004 s4r

~30k miles on the bike. Just had belts and valves done and my mechanic said my rear hub bearings are shot and I should replace them ASAP. $$$ from dealer.

I found these http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=400140919354

Website lists my bike as fitment but the part numbers don't match up that they have on their site.

Anybody know if they will fit?

Anybody have any FHE with these bearings or seller?

The link you posted specifies SBK.

He also has a listing for '07-'08 testastretta

No FHE with the seller.

whats the service life of those type of bearings? Ive only repacked them once in 35,000 miles.

If you click on item description in that link it specifies sbks as well. Do they all take the same size bearings? I know the hub is different sizes on some. 

That link is also only for the roller bearings, where as the link I posted included the needle bearings, seals and the roller bearings.


Do I need the whole kit or just the roller bearings?

Sorry I'm not too familiar with the hub and have never had it apart.

I've never had one apart either.

My 996 had a sprocket carrier problem and was eating the eccentric hub itself. I just bought used.

I had the same issue about 5k miles ago. Cush drives backed out and started shaving down the eccentric. Caught it in enough time that it only shaved 1/4 of the surface off. I can still get my chain adjuster tool to hook on so I just replaced the Cush drives and carrier with a tabbed version and called it a day.

AFAIK, there are two different 'axle' sizes;

All SBK 998 and earlier, Monster, Hyper, 2V Multi, MHE.
1098, 1198, Fighter, 4V Multi, Diavel, ??

And 2 different eccentric carriers.

Buuuut, I'm thinking it's a bit more complicated than that.

Or do I just replace the whole thing since its half eaten anyway and not have to worry about it?

I ended up just getting the entire hub assembly used from Gotham Cycle. Should be easier and less questionable this way. Still cheaper than the bearing by itself from ducati.
