I love the grammatical errors in that petition...

wining instead of winning and 360 degree turn to go back to previous technology?

When you have an army of engineers and the most state of the art machinery at your disposal, it's probably a bit easier to design out issues. I think the article made a point that they did not expand upon. Has Ducati made any changes to the engine to undo the fact that it was meant to be a stressed member? I'm not and engineer, so I have no clue, but from what I understand these frames are designed to flex a very large amount. If you add rigidity through the engine, doesn't that effect everything else?

from what I under stand...they are designed with very specific flex properties and they tune and adapt to that flex for handling...the engine as a stressed member project was supposed to do the same thing, but the feel was apparently not like any other in terms of figuring out how to process the flex data into modifications and tuning for the individual riders and was more of an exercise in trying to change/retrain the rider in order to get more out of it ( or just be like Casey and not give a shit and bin it or win it)...so now they are starting over in a way, and have yet to start ticking the right checks in certain boxes for a good baseline...but hopefully Gobmeister is pointing a direction for to work towards for the mid season update...

although they already scrapped that last year and went to a twin spar, which yielded nothing.

From all these articles you can say it boils down to engine size. You also have to remember that Honda makes their own frames, where as the Ducs outsource it. But again we go back to the point that the engine is huge compared to the competition and when you add the gearbox and everything else, you have an unbalanced mess.

Fascinating interview with new Ducati boss Claudio Domenicali about the Panigale in WSBK, the GP13 & his take on deleting the external frame:
