closing shim clearance question?

hello all hope you are doing all right 
i have a question abt the clearances on the closing shims on a two valve engine.
as you can see on 4:44 on the video below, the guy says that the cam should turn freely without any interference.



my closing shims are at .02mm and i have a slight interference when i turn the cam . (with the old shims which were ~ .06mm- .07mm it was turning easy)
is a little interference torelable? i'd like to know before i start assembling my bike. thanks in advance!

Mo interference is acceptable.

Sand the shim and make sure you put the half rings back in in the correct orientation.

when i started out i did a local training course and we were told to have them just dragging.  these days i do them to no drag.  it's not a lot, maybe 0.01 - 0.02mm difference if you can feel very slight drag.

collet orientation will make enough difference to cause you agro here.

Did you keep the half rings for each valve separate? If not then the following is not as important.

If you look at them closely you can see where there is a worn area.

The groove in the valve wears the half ring towards the inside edge.

If you put that worn area up, to match the groove in the valve stem, the adjustment lasts longer.

Yes i did keep them separate.
Sounds good , I'll take a closer look and put them on the right way . Thx for the info sir .
