This maybe old hat, but just came across this iPhone app Motorcycle Rides GPS. A well written app that gives descriptions, directions, maps and GPS positioning for scenic rides organized geographically. Also has a video area and recording function for capturing pics and video of your journey. As well there's a section to log your itinerary. The app is a spin-off from motorcyclerides.com.au

I also found one called Greatest Rides. Sounds like the same sort of thing. It works really well too.
