Kerem here, from the old (and ruined) ducatimonster dot org. it is always nice to move from time to time. like somebody sayas, bar is open. i really like this expression be::

istanbul = classy town.

where in istanbul are you?  which side?  we've been half a dozen times, it's our second favorite city over there.. (yes, pienza is #1)

merhaba ducatizzy! i live on the european side, very close to taksim square ( you probably know taksim i guess...)

No, I'm not Turkish, but one of my best friends her in NYC is (and from Istanbul).

I supported her throughout Fehnerbahçe's run - until it hit Chelsea... :P

of course i know taksim, we were in a club off taksim for new years in 2005. 

business:  yes, I run hashish.  (just kidding) no, serious, we just love Turkiye, have been all over (except the east-most).. no relatives but a few friends in Izmir.

Honestly, Turks are some of the nicest people in the world and it makes traveling there very pleasant.  That's why we keep coming back, plus there is so much history which we both love.

Hey Kerem.  I saw your intro thread and thought I'd say hello and welcome.   I haven't been to Istanbul often, but enough to safely say it has some of the most beautiful women.  Cheers.
