Gear leaver rubbing on sidestand

Hi guys,

I had to take the belly pan off my 98 M750 recently which included removing the foot hanger and side stand setup. Now upon putting it all back (How I believe it all originally was) the side stand is resting and rubbing on the gear leaver.

I have tried to put it back in different ways but just can't seem to get it to rest correctly and not be in the way when changing gear.







I don't know if any of you can tell anything from these pictures as to if I have something back the wrong way, in the wrong place or even lost a spacer?

Any help will be very appreciated

Isn't your stand wrong side out? (spring is usually on the inside, I think)

Also/or - the gear lever shaft/rod should be mounted on the inside, both front and rear...

Wouldn't the 'foot' be backwards and at the wrong angle too?

looks likes it's all correct...

i think there's an adjustment screw on the either mount or kickstand itself

Bike on rearstand or somehow supported

Slightly loosen bolts that hold sidestand to the engine

Deploy sidestand, and tug the foot toward the front wheel.

Retighten the bolts

See if that gets you the clearance
