Quick question; will the rectifier on my 01 M750 work with a '96 900ss engine

I've seen this explained before, but not sure how to find it again. How should I go about connecting a 2 phase 900ss alternator to my 3 phase rectifier?

Just connecting the two stator wires to the regulator/rectifier and leaving the third blank will work.  How long?  Any draw backs in the long run?  Dunno.  You will have a spare diode though
