In regards to cleaning the wheels, I find Formula 1 bike clean works wonders on road grime and chain lube.

Then polish the wheels every 4th wash or every time after servicing the chain and sprockets. Kero works well too but be careful around tyres, brakes etc. Bike clean is easier to use.

Or else you can paint the wheels a darker colour then strip the paint and polish the outter edges.

Since nobody seems to have had a go at this I will ... Will they fit? Dunno

It may have already been discussed elsewhere on the forum somewhere (expand your search parameters) or you could post your query in the Tech board or something - they love responding to this kinda thing.

My uneducated opinion would suggest you consider things like:

• axle size (shape, dimensions)
• rotor offsets
• rotor bolt patterns
• fork bottoms/caliper mounts are obviously different but I don't know if this matters
• any other bits like speedo mounts (ABS on new models?)

Someone will know and know the solution to any problems (if there are any).

but you'll need the brake rotors from the 1100 IIRC they are 5 bolt 10mm offset

Anchorism swapped his 796 with an S4R, the rotors stayed with the wheel sets.

I have an 06 S2R with white rims too.
I find a quick wipe n rub usually gets the road grime and brake dust off pretty easily every other ride or so.
Every so often I use some kero in a spray bottle which dissolves any tar or oily residue.
Then MrSheen to keep it cleen 
I find it quite therapeutic  part of the weekly Mc Luvin for all the bikes in our garage.

Maybe you are using the wrong chain lube and getting to much fling.
Try another brand and wipe off of any excess.
I like the dry wax type and especially the DuPont which I get my Dad to smuggle in his suitcase when he comes
over from the U.S. as its only $7 there and I cant find it here.

Simple really and maybe a little cheaper than changing rims.

I personally like the white rim white stripped red tank combo.

i used mrsheen or wd40 on my weekly commute

350k per week


so weekend
bike was on the stands,
clean wheels
check chain tension
check tyre pressures
general check over of bike
clean/lube chain
only took about 15 mins max
