Starting Ritual. (and TPS reset)

Some people say that new monsters fail to start if ignition pressed before DUCATI MONSTER line disappeared from dashboard.

And what is correct TPS reset ritual ?
Turn key ON - OFF 3 times without letting dashboard fully initiate. Or
Turn key ON - Wait dashboard fully initiate - OFF - 3 times. ?

 Mine starts fine after I let the dash lights stop flashing, I never wait for the full run through of the display. My understanding of the new models is that the TPS just resets when you start the bike.
