hi all after some advice wanting to get rid of my side high mount termis
on my s2r 1000. was thinking about getting boom tubes, has any had
experince with them. i took off my termi mufflers off today and had just
pipes and its sounded sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet without mufflers
so does any one have any ideas with exhaust change looking for something different and a bit strange.

Sacrilegious!  Think you will Boom Tubes will attract more attention than Julia Guilard at a Vegemite Sandwich contest. Probably be violating a noise emissions law too, especially if you're in the Eastern states...well more than what you currently are with the termis if you have the baffles removed. As an alternative Quat-D Exbox does sound good though! If you can find one in good nick.... |

Boom tubes are all custom made, so you can choose to have them with more baffling or none. But yeh, definitely loud. It would require some custom tuning too.
I'd love to get an exbox on mine, but a lot of people say they're too quiet & I've never heard one in person. They look great though and are definitely something different.
Have you considered the stubby termi that attaches directly to the udder? I think there was one for sale in the sale section last time I looked.

Boom tubes were designed to be noise makers in the first place, the baffles were added into the mix after people started asking for them to be a little more quiet.

there was an SA member that had them on his 695 - used to love cruising behind him, quite a good racey note! Definitely not quiet. You would be lucky to find one in decent condition nowadays. |

I can't imagine anyone wanting to change the sound of the Termis. I had a Panigale ride up next to me
at the lights this morning in my work van and I had an erection 3 seconds before my ears could even hear it.

Can still get them new from Houston Superbikes hmm I got some money coming to me next couple of weeks - may replace the termis for next summer - like the way the Quat-D exposes the bike wheel displaying single sided swing arm in all it's beauty.... |
