Had the day off so I did today.
It was a good day.  left around 7:30, home at 1:00.  That Clinton Keith Road is pretty sketchy.  narrow like GMR, lots of blind corners, the road surface was terrible, and in a couple spots very steep grades (12-15% I'd wager).  Very pretty though, cuts through a bunch of orchards in the hills.  I'd never been up there before but I think I might have to try it again.

Creepy abandoned dairy on 76

Strangely enough, I didn't even get lost once.

I often ride from the Temecula area to Fallbrook via Clinton Keith, Tenaja/Volcano, Carancho, DeLuz Rd.  Its really nice country, lots of Avocado orchards.  As you said, the roads are kinda dirty, and there are also some water crossings with that slippery green stuff, but it can still be fun if you take it easy.  DeLuz road is especially nice.

Sold: 2007 S2R1000 for canyon carving and commuting - DP ECU, PCIII, BMC air filter with open box, Zard full exhaust, Race-tech fork internals, Ohlins steering damper, and a Penske 8987 triple clicker

2000 996XU (extra ugly) for track days - BST carbon wheels, Ohlins shock, reworked fork, FBF exhaust, and a bunch of megacycle rocker arms. The rest of it is junk - Hey, I'm just happy that it runs...

Sold: 2002 Aprilia RST1000 for touring - De-restricted airbox, Taylormade Racing exhaust

I figured the start/end points on the map would've indicated my location pretty well, but OK.
not sure what it matters, but just for you BD, I updated my whole profile so you can e-stalk me with confidence.  Smiley

And yes, Ivan, I completely agree.  I saw the water crossings but they were all dry and clean yesterday.  Not knowing the road and being alone, I took it very easy.  The good part was that except for when I stopped for pictures, I didn't see hardly any cars through that stretch.  Lot of cars on S16 and 76 though, but I expected that.
