Did my first two official races this weekend (bucket list thing)

It's a hobby racer class - racing my 800 Monster on street tires - let's-see-what-happens strategy...

Eleven riders on the grid.
Lowering my best lap time by a second/second and a half in qualifying, another second + in the first race.
Unfair competition against fully equipped race bikes (600's/1000's japs/Aprilias), but I did my best and got a 5th and a 7th. Better than expected and soooo much fun!!!!

Nice. Come a long way since I bumped into you in Oslo almost 5 years ago!

Technical question: who or how or where did you get the sharksfin for the swingarm sorted? I haven't had the time to make one up for myself out of cf-kevlar (was going to mould the bottom of the swingarm and use metal hose clamps to hold it on). Just wondering how you attach it to the swingarm etc. It's one of the reasons I haven't finished the last bits to race my Monster in a couple of series here. That, and looking after the woman's race bike is enough effort Smiley.

Awesome. I really haven't been active enough here, so much other stuff going on. That's a tidy solution, I reckon I can whip one of those up with my metal fabricator friend Smiley.

Good work with the trophy, btw. Trophies make everything awesome.

Thank to my sponsor Frosty's Finishes I've become able to build my race bike, buy race tires, travel and participate, practice, eat and drink get the right size number decals or the seat cowl  Grin Thanks Nate! (actually it was impossible to find the right size, so my sponsor helped more than it sounds)

Shorter straights and sharper corners this weekend, so my street tires'd 800 wasn't as 'under-dogged' this time, but still way down on power and tires.

Second in Saturday's race, third today  chug

(didn't Hayden's seat just open up?)

We had our annual Ducati Weekend with 140 bikes - from noobs to semi-pro racers. Very cool event with more track time than anyone could handle.  ....and the noise music - GREAT!

I lowered my lap time another .5 seconds and that makes a total of 3.5 this year  Dolph
