Messed around/hard wired RR, tail light steady on

My tail light has been going in and out so I cleaned the three contacts. I had a plan to hardwire the RR because I heard that the connectors are known to fail.
Two sets of connectors: three yellow wires on one connector and the other connector had two greens and two red/white wires. Greens went to two black wires on the harness, the red/whites went to solid reds on the harness.
The bike starts and seemingly runs fine but now my tail light is solid on.

1) maybe I reconnected the three wires wrong on the tail light? No idea why its solid on now..
2) what kind of symptoms might I experience if I wires the RR wrong?

*my Haynes manual does not show green wires on the RR btw.

Tail light is supposed to be on all the time.

If you mean the brake light is on all the time...

you put the bulb in 180 degrees out.

It is possible.

Yes, the brake is solid bright all the time. I didn't touch the bulb at all. Just disconnected and cleaned contacts. I suppose its possible I put the plate light wire on the brake connector...

Just checked the owners manual and the Haynes is wrong. I'm fine with my RR wiring. Whew.

There really needs to be a Homer-esq "doh!" emocon. It would probably be my most used. Lol

Well I looked in the owners manual and it said the black goes on the side pin, and the two bottom pins get the yellow and the red/gray. Did this and the tail light and brake worked fine. Put the seat on and it stopped working. Just a solid running light, no brake light.
Took off the seat again and by messing around some more I could get it to be either a running light or a brake light but not both... >:(
Maybe a wire gets pinched somewhere. These little electrical issues can be so annoying!

I think I will just cut back all the wires and put in new ones with fresh connectors and see what happens.

Yep. Brake light wire had a break from being pinched.
