Charcoal Canister Filter/Emissions Filter

Been looking around and browsing the threads. Im seeing that its basically ok to removie this..

Some people even state that its bad for your engine and is only a U.S. thing.

Im considering removing mine and was wondering if anyone can validate that this is ok to do? (new owner btw)

Is this an easy job, and are there any tutorials/threads/vids on how to do this the right way??
