Hey all,
It's a nice day today so I rode my M696 out to the office. I haven't really taken a long trip for a while due to travels / weather /etc. The check engine light came on for a min or so and go off. This happens several times on the trip but only on highway (40mph+). Once I'm in town at slower speed, no light comes up. Engine seems to behave just fine.
Is there a way to look at the fault code? I'm hoping there's a way to read fault code similar to a car w/ OBD II interface? I found some instruction below on how to read code but that seems to only work while the engine light is on. Which it's not when I'm stationary...
Any help to diagnose? Or I need to find a Ducati dealer? Few maint I did last month or so includes:
- Change oil
- New battery (old one was shot)
- Program new spare key
Thanks
If your check engine light comes on, toggle through until you see "Error" then hold the switch down and it will show the error codes, hold it down because sometimes there are more than one, it reads them in three second intervals.
Error message Error
TPS Throttle position sensor
PRESS Pressure sensor
T OIL Oil temperature sensor
T-AIR Air temperature sensor
BATT Battery voltage LOW - HIGH
LAMB Lambda sensor and/or Lambda heater
FUEL Fuel reserve sensor
COIL Horizontal and/or vertical cylinder coil
INJECT Horizontal and/or vertical cylinder injector
START Starter contactor
R INJ Injection relay
PKUP Pickup sensor
SPEED Speed sensor (if present)
IMMO Immobilizer (Key missing or antenna disconnected or key not recognised)
CAN CAN line (Communication between ECU and instrument panel)
LIGHT Lights relay
If you toggle through and don't see "Error" then the system cleared its own fault.
