Throw over saddlebags and carbon mufflers
«

The carbon Termies don't seem to get very warm, and I was wondering how throw over saddlebags would work without a supporting framework. If they just lay on the muffs, how we'll would that work? Maybe a little heat shielding material?

It is possible, I looked into that when I was looking for saddlebags and couldn't find any side rack for my Monster, nobody had one in stock... it can be done if
1) the saddlebags are designed to be used without rack. Several brands that I know of are RKA, Enduristan Monsoon and Advspecs.
2) make sure that the metal parts of the mufflers do not touch the bags. Those parts, like the pipe section before the carbon fiber section, are metal and still hot and
3) make sure that the rear turn signals do not get in the way.
I wanted to buy RKA saddlebags, and use the bags without rack, but when I measured the bags dimension, I found out that if I buy the bags, the rear turn signals would have to be relocated or I need to replace the stock turn signals with ones that have short stems.
In the end, I was able to find side racks for my bike, and decided to go with givi racks and wolfman saddlebags, cause that's a cheaper option and I want to be able to use the bags on different bikes, f800gs or 650 Sertao was what I have in mind.

Thanks for the input, guys! Right now the combination of DP tail bag And Givi tank bag are providing ample capacity, butt I'm looking forward to some long rides with maybe more space needed.
