  Let's see em! Smiley

If I was keeping my OEM shock I'd consider a nice bright yellow. With the Bitubo I have on the way, now I'm thinking a nice shiny red.

These things are just begging to be taken apart and given some spiffy paint...I'm surprised I don't see it done more often. Seems like a slick visual mod.

I started on mine years ago.
 The rear wasn't that bad.
The front, however, quickly turned into more work than i could handle at the time.
I may try again someday but it won't be soon.

There's a danger that people will mistake your bike for a bogonised commodore if ya go for red.

While lurking many months, I've learned that suzyj is someone to pay attention to. So, I just had to get a translation.

It's funny, after I posted this and got no responses, I decided this urge must be my white trash car guy side showing. Smiley

Suzy is tremendously helpful indeed.

Bogans  laughingdp  I think quite a few may have migrated to the a couple of States here in America...........  Those States are to remain nameless (though we all know which ones they are) as I would get a kick in the nads if I directly made fun of someones home state that is on this board.  Even if they were riding some boaganized Duc....

You can't bogonise a Duc....  unless you steal it first.

Don't leave it parked in Collingwood and you'll be fine.

I have.

Were gold with silver Brembo logo.

Red Rustoleum automotive enamel under black Duplicolor caliper paint. Taping/cutting/peeling the logos was quite a pregnant dog, but I think they turned out okay. Initially, as evidenced by the 2 year old pic, the matte black of the calipers didn't quite match the matte black of the fork bottoms. A couple of seasons of brake dust, road grime, and sun damage have faded the color to a much closer match.

I did on my previous Monster. There is paint made specifically for calipers, but it's a touch of a pain to work with. It's more like an thin epoxy or resin as it was two parts and gives you a limited working time and it was brushed on. On the the other hand, it was tough as hell. Evidenced by the drop I got on my shin that only came off when the underlaying layer of skin did too.

I don't recall the name of the stuff I used, but just found it on google. The directions did have one mix up everything in one go. I opted to halve both parts so I could do a 2nd coat/touch ups. The kit had plenty as it was intenteded for auto calipers

Why not appliance spray paint? Super durable stuff.

Not exactly heat resistant.

Calipers can get hot.

I have learned so much from this board. Most of it motorcycle related, but it took some serious googling and putting 2 and 2 together to wrap my brain around "the beast with two backs." Now I can add Bogan to my vocabulary. Thanks!
