Homemade mods

I did some mods to my stock triple, and some other things..

Juan-- can you tell us what you did to your stock trip to make it look so unstock-like?
if you've already covered it, please just link it.
I just installed some clip ons, and would love to clean up (at least) the top triple.

I really can't take credit for this. It was Stuart, ducstew, idea when he remodeled Waren's bike, sweet looking work.
Any way, all you do is remove the triple off the bike, and get ready to cut the risers. There are many tools you can use to chop the risers, however you will need to grind, and smooth things really well at the end. I believe that is the part where you need to pay attention because you only get one chance to make it look good.
Once the risers are off, you will have the holes that will need to be filled in or simply smooth the edges like I did.
When you are please with your triple all even and nice, get ready to primer it and paint. I used spray primer, and spray paint. About 3 coats of it, and than two more I think of clear coat. Placed the Ducati sticker on and than one more coat of the clear coat.
Take your time, and be prepare to clean a lot of metal dust.
Unfortunately I did not take pictures of the process.

This is the way it looks now, still a little more into it. I removed the clip-ons risers, and replaced the stock master cylinders for the ones on my Multistraday.

As for myself, my favorite homemade mod I've done is the integrated garage door opener I put on my bike.  Not my idea, I stole it from Dietrich and Charlief from TOB (dunno if they're here or not), but damn is it useful.

heh heh... kids are WORK... but worth it.  I think.  my wife tells me they are.  I have to listen to her.   
I do have more picks of the flyscreen as well as the template I used to make it.  PM me with your email addy and I'll zip some over to you.

nope Printman- my forks are anodized.  I remember that thread though.  Someone will surely chime in as I think a couple of folks have gone that route now.

This is my latest clutch mod. I had a serious problem with rain causing my open clutch to rust, and wear prematurely (My clutch was still silent, like new, but the friction material was gone so it slipped like crazy...). My solution is called "the umbrella." It's my stock clutch cover that I never planned on using again. Well, it's half of it. I just took my trusty dremel and went to town.



It actually works great. My clutch is still mostly open, but now my bike can sit in the rain all day long and the plates never stick together.

Also, taking off belt covers, the windscreen, the part of the tail I "chopped," and the tail cover were obviously free.

what did you do with your exhaust?
