What kind of ceiling height do you have?

Mine is 10ft and I wish I had a bit more. I finally extracted the old Jeep from the spot it has rested for 18 years the other weekend, just some debris cleanup and bracing for the good roof in the front and the new wall can get done on mine.

Here's the Jeep when I first was able to make it roll and now in its new spot for at least a little while. Having real thoughts of making it run again.

LOL, yeah, it's surreal.  Would love to claim credit, but honestly it's mostly due to other folks' generosity.  It's my in-laws' land and my father-in-law built the structure.  Thankfully I got some input before it was built, because the original garage plan had 2 light fixtures, 4 outlets, and no 240V drops for big stuff.  With the extensive revisions I made (and he approved), we now have a much more functional work space.  Of course it's fantastic to have storage room for our cars, my motorcycle, and his tractors.

The whole building is 108' x 96'.  It's split between living space, "barn", and garage.  It looks like a giant barn from the outside, with three sections.  Tall middle section, and two outboard sections.  Will have to find another way to post pics, because Photobucket keeps knocking up against my bandwidth limit, and I refuse to pay them for "premium".  There are some pics I've posted elsewhere, like the unofficial post-a-pic thread.  Those curious could try copying the links to view the pics directly.

As far as the roofline... since the garage is in an outboard section of the building, it has a sloped roof.  It goes from 14' on the east wall down to 8-8.5' on the west wall.  I will have to notch the drywall in the middle of the garage ceiling to clear the 12' top of the Challenger lift, but the roof trusses are 18" tall, so it won't be a problem.  At the outermost point of the lift footprint, I have 11'6" from floor to sheetrock ceiling, so there is more than enough space in the roof space for the 6" of clearance I need to add.

Oh, and of course... local and travelling fellow Ducatisti/motorcyclists are welcome to visit.    Give me some heads-up, and I'll make sure there's a variety of beer on hand... or we can go to Hood River and avail ourselves to the local breweries.

Maybe someday I can convince my wife to let us host a "DIMBY - West Coast".  Barring the mile of gravel, there are some epic motorcycle roads around here.

(Note: The 1 mile of gravel is to the nearest pavement... my route to work takes me the opposite direction, down 5 miles of gravel.  If I went the 1-mile gravel way to work, it's an additional 15-20 miles of pavement, adding ~20 min to my commute time)

W00t!  The concrete guy is here and the floor is getting polished today! 

Hey all, I'm looking for ideas for a paint scheme.  Lots of white sheetrock right now.  I'm thinking something simple, like a checkered flag band, a little above waist high.  Maybe with red stripes to border it above and below.  Don't want to blow a bunch of money on paint, so I'm not planning to paint the large surfaces, just add some trim to make it a little more official.  Then I have some wood and tin signs and a bunch of car, moto, and airplane posters to hang.  Also have a beer bottle collection that I'm gonna make some narrow shelves for, up high (visible, but out of the way).

You should totally get that Jeep up and running again.  Lift it a bit, and it'd be a great wheeler.

not my top priority but after extracting it from that previously dark corner (when there was still a wall and roof in place) and actually really looking it over again for the first time in a really long time, I recalled that I liked it and it looked mean as hell. It does deserve to live again. Top priority out there is building the wall, new roof and building out that spot as a motorcycle specific shop. Then I think the old Jeep needs the next bit of attention. Sometime following that will be the more expensive resurrection, the Chevelle.

I'm hoping we're out of the woods on my earlier bandwidth exceedance.  That's why these are links instead of embedded pics... those who want to can look, those who don't can ignore.

Anyway... also had a wood stove installed today.  It would be on the left in the pics above, about 3 feet off the end of the workbench.  No pics of that yet.

Next item is to get the vinyl baseboard installed to clean up the bottom edge.  The clean edge will help me detect if rodents or bugs are trying to get in and out through the gaps under the drywall.  Then I'd like to paint my checkered-flag border around the walls before bringing the shelves back in.

I'm trying to convince the wife to let me get a C5 Z06 as a "cheap" track toy.   Supercar performance for less than $25k.  I can't take the Sky out for track days because it doesn't have the required rollover protection.

My guess is about 500-515 rwhp.
