Anybody going?

We are looking at heading down but we will only be able to make it for race day in Sunday if all goes according to plan. A question I have for you lot is ... what does General Admission get you and is it worthwhile?

Any hints, tips or anything else would be appreciated.

GA would mean standing room on a hill or similar type of area.
Moto GP is based on bums on seats in grandstands or find somewhere to stand.

You can't take your bike in as you do a WSBK, you park outside in a paddock and walk in. So you either leave your gear locked on your bike or carry it with you.
There is 5-10 times the people there so I would expect services to be better than in February than in October.

Are you guys riding down or do you have to fly/drive if you can only make Sunday.

I'm going, and will never go GA, I've done it in the past but once you go in a marquee you'll never go GA again. I'm riding down with my brother

Firstly, we have no chance of riding.

Secondly, all the non-GA options appear to be for three days which is less than optimal for our situation.

Thirdly, we have done the 'it costs how much?' route in the past ... hence the query about GA. Does anybody know if the hub add-ons are worthwhile?

Betty , GA is better than nothing ....for me the day is all about the noise and the crowd and the action ....generally you can wander round and find ok viewing .......and then do what i do sit down on the lounge when u get home and watch the replay ...its the way to see it all ..............but its much harder to see the bikes slide on the telly and also harder to hear when they get on the throttle .....which is Very early hahaha. i am going down SO PM ME

I want to go from Brisbane, but not sure if I have anyone to ride with me.  I even have some free accomodation places for the trip if anyone wants to let me tag along with their group.

GA is great fun! Walk around the track with a beer and a dagwood dog!  This is all dependent on weather too!  I have basked in glorious sunshine and sludged through pouring rain, all in the same day.  If you want a good position on race day you have to get there as soon as gates open and be prepared to sit in one spot for the whole day.  If you or your mates move, people move in like Hitler moved in on Poland!  Territory is precious especially in Siberia!

I hopefully will be heading there, not sure by whether by plane or car.  One of my mates had a major accident riding back last year, and his missus took away his bike privileges... .  Means a lot less riding this year as he was normally the "ring leader" of the circus.

Well our tickets arrived this week.

We will being taking the bus down for the Sunday only and have tickets to 'the Garage' Hub on Turn 1. If anybody wants to catch up during the day ... let us know.

I live on the south coast of NSW in Merimbula (near Bega), so anyone passing through there is a ducati friendly garage and comfy beds and most importantly cold beer . Would be great to meet a couple of you. I know a few of you stayed at Tathra last year and Im only 5 mins down the road on the water

ok looks like my plans have gone belly up with work - so not going to the Island.  Anyone want a pair of tickets I won for Saturday?  The tickets are general admission to the 2013 Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix on Saturday 19th October.  There are two wristbands that:

• give you general admission on Saturday
• give you access to the Swann Supercross Suite, which entails all day grazing, beer win, softdrink, tea and coffee, television, and unlimited use of the VIP Hospitality shuttle bus
• vip parking pass for one car or two motorcycles in the Lukey Heights/Siberia Car Park

and the lucky winner is GK - enjoy

If I had have known that, I'd have teed up to meet you. The family and I were holidaying in Merimbula for a week a few weeks ago!
