I figured it was time to break out an start a mods thread for my bike.

One she was all cleaned up and road worthy again.

Then I decided to do an exhaust.

Wet sanded and Polished the exhaust for a cleaner look.

It bronzed and blued pretty fast after it was done.

Now I'm working on removing the airbox and installing the bracket designed by DoWorkSon. During which i got carried away and just decided to remove all that plastic garbage for that canister.

More to come later once I get stacks and some other cool goodies. I'm not really into billet this and carbon that but more so about removing shit that doesn't really need to be there and going for as close to a minimalistic approach as possible. That and I hate crappy plastic covers.

Velocity stacks attack!!! I went with the corse dynamics kit from motowheels. Anyone that has said they didn't really notice any induction noise is crazy. I have not tuned the bike yet but will do so as soon as I figure out what my best route is going to be. Call me crazy but the bike seemed way better just because of the filters. I was cruising at in second at 2000-2250 rpm and wasn't being bucked off like riding a bull.

One thing I will add that I didn't take a picture of is that the crank case breather should probably be relocated or SOMETHING as its mega close to the rear header so when you're at speed it's blowing that filter oil onto the header. (Maybe I just applied too much?) and smoking like crazy. I came to a stop light and thought my make the beast with two backsing bike was on fire.

C'mon, there has to be more pictures of the velocity stack install that that!!

What have you decided to do about tuning?

Answers man, I need answers!

Or deaf.  I reckon I hear more roar from induction than from exhaust  Evil.

Your K+Ns look taller and narrower than mine.

I think the science is that we dont gain any HP from throwing away the airbox....  but... that's not how it feels  Grin.

How's your ECU and ABS gizmometry mounted?

Without any fueling modifications... you are most likely running very lean....  I'd wanna get onto that asap  waytogo

I'm guessing you give some hp away with losing the airbox, but gain some from those beautiful  velocity stacks.

It would be great to see someone test those velocity stacks in a well designed airbox. I'd like to see EVR make carbon airboxes for the Monster models.
At least the pods are large enough to have some useful volume and large surface area.

They do look cool. The look is raw, minimalist and brutal. I like it.

my issue with pods on the new monsters is the now faux intake on the tank

So either in the two weeks that it was sitting while I did this the battery drained, I mixed up the fuel lines when reinstalling (I think it wouldn't run at all), or I'm running super super lean because its not wanting to stay started at start up unless I'm on the gas a little bit.

Cool happenings over here!  Very curious how you mounted the ABS crap with no airbox.  I know the mount doworkson made doesn't support the ABS equipment.  Can we get some closeups of your setup?

Update: it was a low battery charge. It still has a bit of a weak start because its still running lean until I can get it tuned. But damn whacking that throttle open at speed is just like music. Reminds me of a 650cfm holly 4-barrel.

Storm- I didn't take any pictures as its just secured on with piece of sheet metal that I cut, grinded, and bent to hold the abs module. It's still pretty rough looking but once I get it back apart to replace my battery with a lightweight one ill snap a picture.

Whats the issue?  That they're still there?  It crossed my mind to have some skins modified to eliminate the vents.... but then I came to the conlusion that I like 'em.  If you have em painted matt black they - weirdly - seem to become more see through, allowing more of a glimpse at the inner goodness......

But lean for sure, sucking in way more air than before.

I don't know, to me the intakes are somewhat of a ram styling intake (if you look from the front especially on my bike it can appear that way.
but even still, the pods stick so low, that the intakes seem out of place.
