That looks like they grabbed parts at random from a mixed pile of Ducati and other make parts and hammered it all together.

I would not count on any part of it other than frame, motor, and suspension.
Everything else is parts-bin, and not germane to the functional test.
Anything that can be changed while still meeting the performance requirements of the test, they will change. They'll want to throw off the photogs they know are stalking it.

Really hoping they take their own cue from the sport classics and retain the look of yesteryear. It would be disappointing if it ended up looking like some mash of a KTM and Diavel (hate that headlight in the picture).

I imagine that's a Streetfighter headlight and a Monster 3-spoke wheel they put on the back just for testing. Even in the worst case scenario, one can put a classic round headlight on most anything!

why go retro ugly on the mirror but go modern with the light? designer must be drunk
He's eyetalian, of course he's drunk. It will have a round headlight.

Looks like a tight fit for tall guys.
Not a fan of that swing arm. It doesn't look any better here than it does on the 899.
Will reserve my final opinion until offical photos released.

Isn't that how the Monster line started?

This model could be my salvation . i own 4 Ducatis already but my most modern are my M750 and S4 , dont like any of the recent monsters with underseat exhausts but I want a new bike , the BMW 9 retro is also a looker , and on my list , Triumph bonneville looks nice but its gutless to ride

The bike is clearly cobbled together at this point and hardly ready for the sales floor. It could well be they were testing a specific part and slapped a riding chassis together to test something. Be it wheel base, spring rates or what have you. I wouldn't get any panties in a bunch just yet.

Seems to me, if you want a Ducati scrambler you should just build one based on an old Gen 1 Monster or SS. Way cheaper, more unique.

Buying a scrambler for retro looks appeal seems so non utilitarian...I just wish they'd bring the damn SC back.

Hopefully not a freakin' plastic tank!
Speaking of rolling your own; where can I get a SS laced hub?

Could this be a scale Ducati Scrambler prototype toy without the round headlight?
