That tank looks really small.

It does, now that you mention it. Though I suppose that's kind of inevitable, given the way the '70s Scrambler aesthetic (with relatively small gas tanks) has kind of merged with the flat tracker/street tracker aesthetic (with REALLY small gas tanks).

I'm in the process of scrambler-izing a 1978 Yamaha XS650 to explore some of the gravel roads that are everywhere here in Northern Arizona. I'm planning to keep the larger, more bulbous Special gas tank, even though the Yamaha HT1 tank I have hanging in the rafters would look SO much cooler (but have about half the capacity)

The HT1 Tank looks like this:



While the Special Tank (which was chasing the chopper look) is this:
