Rough idle from dirty injector?

The motor is a 2008 1100 from a Multistrada, it has 3000 miles on it in the last 5 years and I don't know how it was used or stored. The idle is a bit rough at about 1250. As soon as the throttle is cracked it runs fine. Would a slightly dirty injector give these symptoms, do you suppose?

Could, that would be one expensive guess though.  Treat it to a new set of spark plugs, some Techron or similar product, put some miles on it, balance throttle bodies and see how it is.  In fact, not a bad idea to do a full service if it has never been done.  Also, if the belts are over 2 years old change them.

I'm thinking a good ride with some Techron is a first step, KISS!
And I have a pair of belts at e ready!

 The rest of the story........
When I picked this bike up it had the smoothest idle and low speed fueling that you could have. Even my wife noticed how nice it sounded and ran. The shop decided that the fuel in the tank had been stabilized, and in their last check over they siphoned out the gas and added a couple of gallons from a jug they had in the shop. Gradually the idle became more rough until a few days ago it died in the driveway after coming back from a short ride. My first reflex was to try to increase the idle speed, which is obviously the wrong approach. The degradation of the idle was accompanied by random popping at steady engine speeds of 3 to 4k. All of this says crud in the injectors to me.
Today I put a few ounces of Techron injector cleaner and rode around for 10 or 15 miles which is too little for any valid conclusions, butt I do believe that it is running better.
20 or 30 years ago Techron was discussed on the BMW moto list, with some very techy types concluding that it really did help injector related issues in the bikes.

Get rid of the fuel they put in your tank, a new fuel filter fresh fuel and some Techron for good measure will probably fix you up.  What to do with the gas in your bike?  Find the vehicle owned by the guy who gave you the jug gas [evil]

After running a few tank full of gas with some Techron and a bit of Sea Foam through the motor it is running quite nicely now. I also set the air screws in just a touch from 1 turn out and this thing runs like a Duck should run, instead of how many do!
I may not bother with messing with the mapping of the system, although there is an air filter from MWR that replaces the top of the air box................

I'm halfway through doing my version of the MWR filter. I've completed the front part, the removal of the front top section and the addition of the two openings, by copying their layout but using green UNI foam. Did one run and could tell from reading the Auto Tune table that it definitely leans the mixture. I'm presently working out how to copy their design for the filter element replacement and ought to be finished with that in a few days. Ignore the DP style filter cover on the element; it will be done away with.

Just mentioning this because, if you do not want to do a re-map, better stay away from the MWR offering. But if a re-map does not bother you, go for it, and keep in mind that you can make your own and spend the $$$ on something else.
