I will save Skynet from Sarah Connor

« on: September 15, 2013, 01:31:00 PM »

Bought some led aux lights for my big ktm and needed a way to mount them up.

Drew up a shape and cut it out of card board. Measured it and drew it up in cad

And then set about machining it yesterday.

Did the install today-

I tried the low mount but decided I didn't like it as much.

They're also strong enough to support my 210 pounds of fury Evil

Nice work! As an added bonus, with the lights removed you've got some serious stunting potential  laughingdp

I'd love to sell them but I don't think something like this would get a patent.

Nice work.
No one could argue with their strength.
Extra lighting help spot deer, other road hazards, etc?

Thanks. Yeah, I don't care for the thought of hitting a deer Tongue

I'd love to sell them but I don't think something like this would get a patent.
Claim: a road lighting device that is attached to the front of a motorcycle for the purpose of identifying road hazards, the curvature of the road, indicating the existence of that motorcycle to other motorists, and acting as a step-ladder in the garage.  Grin

It weighs 460 pounds and I've had it airborne on concrete Grin

This can't be as bad.

Its all about vectors
the force of a jump is in line with your forks
you standing on those mounts is a pressure on the walls of the forks
